Sail Martha's Vineyard

Sail Martha's Vineyard Summer Sailing Programs

Summer Sailing Programs offer to over two hundred 8-18 year old Island students sailing instruction on the Lagoon in Oak Bluffs for a modest $50 membership. In 2005, Sail MV began offering access to its programs to seasonal residents as well. The Novice courses are taught in Optimist Prams. The basic skills of rowing, knot tying, and rigging are taught. After their four-week session sailors proudly sail on their own, compete in regattas if they choose, or simply enjoy the pleasure of moving across the water under sail. The more advanced students graduate to 420’s and continue to develop skills in sail trim and race tactics.
